On Louisiana's state flag and seal there is a mother pelican who is tearing at her own breast to feed her young. This is a symbol of sacrifice. So where is the sacrifice? The governments of this state have never sacrificed. The only people who ever sacrifice are there citizens of Louisiana.I love my culture and my state. I just can't understand why we cannot seem to do the things that would make us a better state. Why?
